"I appreciate the fact that incredible outdoor adventures are used as tools to develop emerging leaders and am honored to play a simple part in this process."
  • Chad started with COBS in 2013, so far he has been an Intern, Logistics Coordinator and an Assistant Instructor out of the Leadville Mountain Center. Chad is a certified WFR, CWI (Climbing Wall Instructor), LNT, AVY1.

Chad likes to think of himself as a small town Colorado native who has greatly benefited from global exposure. He spent the majority of his childhood exploring and enjoying the beauty that surrounds us here in Colorado. After completing a year of college, Chad moved to South East Asia where he lived, studied and worked for over ten years. Working within an international university allowed him to interact with and invest in students from around the world. He returned to Colorado in 2007 and began a five year journey of earning his Bachelor’s degree in communications. After working for Apple for a couple years, Chad joined the staff of Colorado State University Pueblo’s Outdoor Pursuits program where he helped lead students in backcountry adventures. Then he heard about COBS…and the rest, so they say, is history. Within a few short months his wife, children and he moved to Leadville to join the team there.

As an experiential educator who deeply appreciates the beauty and opportunities that Colorado provides, Chad is committed to effectively engaging students with a passion for personal growth, environmental stewardship and community development.  He appreciates the fact that incredible outdoor adventures are used as tools to develop emerging leaders and is honored to play a simple part in this process.
