Laurie is an Assistant Instructor with the Rocky Mountain Program, leading 22-day mountaineering courses in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado.
She is also a Rock Climbing Instructor at Boulder Rock Club and a Coach at Boulder CrossFit. She is a Volunteer Mountain Climber for Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. A Veteran with 14 years of service; USArmy Still & Aerial Photographer and USAir-Force Recreation and Fitness Management.
Laurie holds the following certifications: AAI Mountaineering School, Rock Climbing Instructor, CrossFit Coach, Yoga Instructor. CWA Climbing Wall Instructor, Outward Bound Level 1 Rock, NOLS Wilderness First Responder, CPR, First Aid, AED, Concussion certified.
Laurie lives and works in Boulder, Colorado, however her origins are back east in the New England area: New York, New Hampshire and Western Massachusetts . She moved to Colorado in 2008 to be nearer to the mountains and train at the higher elevations.
Since 2004, she has been climbing the world’s highest peaks and has dedicated herself to a project called the Power of Seven, raising critical funds for cancer research. She has climbed over 77,000 vertical feet and raised over $75,000 for the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.
With a great love for outdoor education, she shares her passion with others through challenging adventures. She is a Rock Climbing Instructor, Yoga Teacher and CrossFit Coach. She’s an Outward Bound Instructor, leading wilderness trips for youth and adults.
She has climbed 5 of the famous “Seven Summits” with plans to climb Mt. Everest in 2015.
